Should george have killed lennie ? In the memoir of mice and men george and lennie are very close like brothers , but it took a turning point when lennie accidently broke curley’s wife’s neck and she was found dead ,so george had to kill lennie so he wouldn’t suffer a horrible death ,the first reason why george should have killed lennie because if he would have stayed he would have suffered .The second reason why george should have killed lennie because he was causing george a lot of problems .Although george should have killed lennie it was wrong because he promised his aunt carla he would take care of him and that was the only family george had.
The first reason why george should have killed lennie because if lennie would have stayed he would have suffered .Curly and the men from the bunkhouse were looking for him due to the fact that lennie killed his wife also he is mentally challenged so he doesn’t know better that why he has george to keep him out of trouble because he knows what he is capable of doing ,george would tell lennie things and he would automatically forget them ,george couldn’t take it anymore so he killed him .Also lennie is mentally unstable so if he would have to keep on getting him out of trouble for kill other animale or people.
The second reason why george should have killed lennie because he was causing him a lot of trouble ,for example back in weed he touched a girl’ s dress and she thought he was trying to touch her inappropriate ,then when they went to curley’s farm he killed a newborn puppy and curley’s wife. Lennie doesn’t know his own strength for example when lennie was trying to stop curley’s wife from screaming and he was pulling her to hard and broke her neck and he was petting the new born puppy to hard.
Although it was best for george to kill lennie ,george was lennie’s family and he knows that lennie doesn’t know his own strength and he is mentally unstable and he doesn’t mean any harm to those animals or curley’s wife. But he doesn’t want lennie to suffer anymore or have to move somewhere every time lennie does something wrong.
In conclusion george should have killed lennie because if he would have stayed he would have suffered and would have caused george many problems . Although he should have killed him that was his brother and he promised lennie aunt carla that he would look after him and make sure he didn’t get into trouble.
